About the Artwork: A reflection upon the ongoing exploitation and erasure of Black queer identity. The garden represents both refuge and fragility, highlighting how even in spaces of beauty, the remnants of identity and existence are subject to being violated.
This artwork is a hand-printed woodblock print, created through a traditional relief printing process. Each print is individually pulled by hand, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique.
Because this is a handmade process:
Slight differences in ink density, texture, and line quality are natural and expected.
No two prints are exactly alike.
These variations are not flaws, but evidence of the artist’s hand and the physical process of printmaking.
